Gharra is one of the sweetest dates available. It usually is one of the first varieties to become available in the summer.

The dates are really getting close to being ready to be harvested… hopefully we’ll get some of that before we go on holiday.

Not many trees are bearing fruit at the moment, well, except for this pomegranate and of course the date palms which are almost ready to be harvested.

I completely ignored these shrubs (and garden) for the last few months as I have been really busy, add to that the fact that we are repainting the house so it’s surrounded with scaffolding an up to 10 painters stomping all over the garden and you get the idea.

Having said that, I am determined to restart my green-thumb campaign come the new season in September.
