It’s the second time this barrel flowers, and since it last flowered, I had moved it into a pot and it seems to be doing okay and likes its new abode.

This is the first of four Strelitzias to flower. This plant is 3 years old and this is only the second time that it blooms.
The dates are almost ready to be harvested, these aren’t really for eating as this variety is one of the first to be ready. They tell me they’re not even fit for animal feed, but the birds absolutely love them.
This year all our palms don’t seem to be carrying much and I know why. The reason is because the birds have been feasting on them day and night! We don’t mind. We love birds. Dates you can always buy!
