Dear sir thank you for sharing your lovely garden with us. I would like to know what the botanical name of these roses are that are doing so well in Bahrain. I downloaded a picture from the internet of a Phoenician rose Rosa Phoenicia that looks exatly like this one but I was told at the nursery that the name is Sultani roses that originated in Jordan and reach us through Saudi I do not understand that because there is no difference in the two pictures myne that I took or the one I down loaded. Thank you from Pumpkne

I don’t know what their botanical name is other than “rosa”. The nurseries here generally call them with the common local name of “ward Muhammadi (Mohammed’s Roses)” or Sultani or Omani roses.

Thank you for the information. That is what the nurseries tell me too. I still think it is the Phoenician rose as they are indigenous and smell devine too! I hope to drop photos of the roses off at Frankie’s shop sometime soon. Best wishes Pumpkyne
