Holiday project – Oriental Patch Lighting

The first project of the holidays has finished! I spent today wiring up the Oriental Patch for 3 more lights: a flood directed at Buddha and two lanterns.

This shows the final result, what do you think?

  1. Awesome. I like the balance in the lighting so that the tree actually was the first thing that caught my eye and then flows down to the statue. The statue’s shadow is really cool too; great job.

  2. Thank you!

I’ve made a slight change today and replaced the 80W spot with a 40W instead. This way the light flows better. I’m also going to fit a couple of 40W spots at the front of the patch to light up the foliage and the front of the frangipani.

  3. Well done.
Have you thought of adding music feature “let’s say from the orient” to this area. I think it would complete the picture you want to achieve.
Wiring for water proof (you can create water proof boxes yourself) speakers is straight forward. You get them fm old souq electronic shops opposite the municipality building in Gov’t avenue.

  4. I did actually! I saw them in Canada the first time at Radio Shack and they come in a “rock” shape and look quite good. I wanted to get a pair to place by the pool for the times I want to be outside and listen to some music at the same time. I think I just forgot to get them before we left Toronto.

Your suggestion is certainly worth another project weekend!
