Hey there, I’m an Australian expat living in Bahrain, eager to start my own vegetable garden, I am told it is easier to purchase seedlings here, and that it is rather hard to grow your own vegetables in this climate, I was wondering where you buy your seedlings from? I am in the process of building a greenhouse with my family here in Budaiya :) Your garden looks amazing and makes me even more impatient to start my own!

    Regards

Very sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you. I hope you’ve found the sources by now, but if you haven’t, then Jassim Garden Centre on the Budaiya Highway has a good selection there. Al-Bader on the Janabiya highway has some as well as seedlings which I’ve had success with before.

Bahrain has the perfect climate for all kinds of plants once you provide them with the right soil and water and sometimes, shade.

      Good luck in your efforts.

Hey, thank you for your reply :) yes I have discovered Al-kahir nursery, i go there quite often haha :) and Jassim Garden centre to get my seed starting kits and vegetable seedlings, was meaning to ask another question, do you have problems with your leaves on your cabbages, peppers, etc getting eaten? Because mine are getting eaten by something, my father suspects birds. Apart from that, alot is blooming, strawberries, cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, chili, onions, dill, radish, so much more :) your garden is inspiring, keep up the good work
